A 3-day itinerary in Ogliastra
The minimum needed to understand the east coast without chasing it: one day by the sea, one day of cliffs, one day inland.

Three days are enough for the coastal belt and a first taste of the interior, on one condition: a single base and no change of accommodation. The roads are mountain roads and every move with luggage costs half a day.
Day 1 — Plain and sea
Arrival, the beaches of the Lotzorai plain and Santa Maria Navarrese. Afternoon at Pedra Longa, where the cliff is seen from below and the road nearly reaches the water.
Day 2 — Gulf of Orosei
Boat excursion from Santa Maria Navarrese towards the Baunei coves. Board early; check when booking which coves allow going ashore.
Day 3 — The Golgo plateau
Up to Baunei and the Golgo plateau: basalt, shepherds' enclosures, junipers. Return with a stop at Tortolì or Arbatax for the Red Rocks.
